Our Provider Network: Ensuring A Healthy Workplace Our stellar panel of physicians UPMC Work Partners and its panel of physicians have provided disability and medical case management for more than ten years. Work Partners understands that when dealing with workers' compensation issues, the choice of physician can become critical in properly identifying top quality care while managing the related legal, regulatory, and human resource issues. The right physicians must be specifically trained to understand occupational illness and injury or have significant expertise in treating work-related, musculoskeletal injuries. In order to successfully serve its client base, UPMC Work Partners has developed its own provider network specializing in the treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses. This panel network can be customized to meet the geographical needs of each employer and can be used to supplement providers already identified by each client. In all cases, panel members will provide, or otherwise control, all treatment for the first 90 days post-injury. Their purpose is to serve as gatekeepers for all reported work-related injuries, and along with the case manager, be responsible for managing and directing care, including handling referrals to appropriate specialists. UPMC specialty provider network In addition to the physicians listed on the primary panel, the UPMC specialty provider network includes a wide variety of board-certified specialists and other providers who are familiar with the interface between the patient and the work environment. Specialty referrals may be handled by case managers in conjunction with the panel physicians. UPMC Work Partners also serves as the physical therapy network manager for injured employees who require rehabilitation as part of their overall occupational treatment plan. To learn more about Work Partners' physical therapy services, please call 800-633-1197. Our Panel Treatment Facilities Our designated panel locations are conveniently located throughout western Pennsylvania. All of the primary physician locations are open five days a week. Physical therapy sites are also staffed five days a week with many offering evening and Saturday hours. Free (or validated) parking is available at all sites. The treatment facilities are all ADA compliant and accessible. Walk-in appointments are available. It is our goal to make every effort to see patients on a walk-in basis or within 24 hours of the injury. However, if a patient is injured on Friday night or during the weekend, the patient can be seen at an emergency facility and follow up with treatment at our facility immediately on Monday morning. Appropriate Waiting Times The standard patient waiting time for initial office visits, primary physician office visits, and specialist office visits is normally 20 minutes. Compliance to this standard is documented in follow-up patient satisfaction surveys and reported back to the client and physician offices involved. |
