Whole Foods' Whole Health Plan: Delivering Higher Quality Care and Better Patient Engagement           

Starting in 2016, Whole Foods Market has been piloting a next-generation health plan for Team Members and their dependents in several key markets including Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, California. This innovative design centers around the concept of a Clinical Care Plan that links multiple components of the health plan offering, providing positive financial returns for three consecutive years. Take-aways will include how to design a plan with aligned incentives (member, provider, and employer); how to emphasize tailored care plans and high-value components; the importance of high-quality integrated data and data warehousing, and key learnings from medical professionals on the front lines of delivering next-generation, quality-focused care.
